Education Commission

Realizing that “Christian Education” is far more than a one-hour class on a Sunday morning or a weekly small-group gathering, clergy and lay leaders provide venues and opportunities in music and liturgy, mission trips and service, guilds and fellowship, and the church seasons and sacraments to educate both young and “older” in great variety, imagination and depth.

This committee oversees the education of children, youth and adults, but guides much more than just traditional Sunday School embracing life-long Christian Formation.    The Christian Education committee meets the third Sunday of each month after the 10:30 service. In addition to youth and adult Sunday School, the Christian Education committee plans many events throughout the year:

  • Advent Event
  • Assist with Angel Tree Party
  • Epiphany Pagent
  • Lenten Soup and Bread Program
  • Easter Egg Hunt
  • Mother's Day
  • Teacher Appreciation Day
  • Rogation Sunday
  • Pentecost
  • Graduation Sunday
  • Youth Sunday
  • Father's Day
  • Vacation Bible School
  • Sunday School Rally Day
Day School Committee

St Francis provides a day school to the county for three and four year olds. The Director is Sherry Club.

E.P.I.C. Episcopalians Passionate in Christ

E.P.I.C., an acronym for “Episcopalians Passionate in Christ,” is the name our young people have chosen for their group.

Education For Ministry (EFM)

Education for Ministry, affectionately known as EFM, is a program of theological education-at-a-distance of the School of Theology of the University of the South. Students sign up one year at a time for this four-year program. It covers the basics of a theological education in the Old and New Testaments, church history, liturgy, and theology. Students meet regularly, usually once a week, in seminars under the guidance of trained mentors. The program grants a certificate at the completion of the four years and 18 Continuing Education Units for each year's work.
